Legal Notice 57 of 2024: amendments to conditions, cessation and confidentiality provisions
The first 2024 amendment adjusted regulations 15 (further conditions), 17 (cessation of certificate) and 21 (confidentiality), as recorded in the consolidated regulations.
What changed
The consolidated S.L. 217.26 records L.N. 57 of 2024 as amending regulations 15, 17 and 21. Professional summaries of the amendment describe the introduction of the 29-year age cap for adult children at the time of application, which the consolidated text now contains in regulation 3(c).
What was previously applicable
Before 2024, unmarried adult children of any age could qualify if principally dependent (regulation 3(c) as originally enacted required only that the child be over 18, unmarried and principally dependent).
What is currently applicable
Adult children must be over 18 but under 29 at the time of application, unmarried at submission and principally dependent; the age cap does not apply to adult children with a certified disability.
Who may be affected
Applications submitted after the amendment took effect in 2024.
