Administration fee

The non-refundable administration fee for the main applicant is €60,000. €15,000 is payable within one month of submitting the application and €45,000 within two months of the Letter of Approval in Principle (First Schedule (i)). The regulations define it as an administrative fee "which is not refundable", and the Agency's FAQ confirms it is not transferable to other programmes.

Dependant administration fee

A non-refundable administration fee of €7,500 is payable for each dependant except the spouse, children under 18 and adult children certified as having a disability. It falls due within two months of the Letter of Approval in Principle, or on submission where a dependant is added to an existing certificate.

Government contribution

The contribution is €37,000 in respect of the main applicant, payable within eight months of the Letter of Approval in Principle. Since Legal Notice 146 of 2025 the same amount applies whether the qualifying property is purchased or rented; before that, the rental route carried a higher contribution.

Donation

A donation of €2,000 must be made, before the certificate is issued, to a local philanthropic, cultural, sport, scientific, animal welfare or artistic NGO registered with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations, or as otherwise approved by the Agency. A receipt from the NGO is the accepted evidence.

Residence card fee

The Agency's MPRP page and brochure state a residence card fee of €500 per person covering five years.

How fees are paid

By bank transfer from the account declared in Form MPRP2. Card payments, virtual payment platforms and cryptocurrency are not accepted for fees and contributions.
